Welcome to my private practice, Meliora Psychotherapy and Supervision. My name is Susan Santiago-Turner, and I’m a fully licensed mental health counselor in Washington State. My mission is to always strive for a better way to counsel middle-aged women who are considering caregiving for an aging parent. This is a role-reversal few are prepared for, especially if there is a history of unreported sibling physical and sexual abuse. I earned a master’s degree in counseling psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a doctorate in counselor education and supervision from the University of Rochester. I have over 20 years of clinical expertise in intergenerational trauma. I practice from a strengths-based framework in tandem with a blend of feminist and dialectical behavior therapies. Together, we’ll re-discover your existing strengths, and explore ways to help you work with any ambivalence surfacing as you navigate through this difficult time. Let us strive to find a better way.
