My therapy style is primarily person centered while drawing from aspects from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I believe that for healing to be successful, therapy needs to be able to cover all facets of your life experiences. That means that it is not enough to learn and practice copings, but rather also additionally acknowledging that our lives are impacted through external factors such as government policies, social values, and systemic racism. Hence part of our sessions will additionally discuss meaning making through intrinsic values, finding community, healing our connection to our emotion and body, and empowering community actions.

While I may resonate with important experiences as a gay, first generation Vietnamese American male myself, I recognize that I also hold privileges that others around me may not be afforded. As such, where we go in therapy will also be with your consent to continue. Your voice will always be heard.
