Overview
Hello! I'm Makenna, an Arizona native with 20+ years in healthcare. Starting as a transporter, I advanced to CNA, then RN, working in pediatrics, NICU, cardiology, ICU, and surgery. I became a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, specializing in outpatient and inpatient psychiatry with 5+ years' experience. I've also completed yoga teacher training.
I'm a single mom of 3, including a neurodivergent child, who has unique differences in cognition, sensory processing, communication styles, and social interactions. I have a special place in my heart for littles struggling to fit in or be understood. I empathize with families navigating similar journeys and specialize in supporting children with unique needs. I've worked in perinatal mental health and have a passion for long-term cognitive health. I've developed an effective ADHD protocol and am experienced in somatic therapy techniques.
