Group Therapy

Group therapy is an effective form of therapy in which a small number of people meet with the support of a therapist to address a specific topic or area of concern. While each group differs in approach and goals, all groups aim to create a safe, supportive, and cohesive space.

Clients can engage in group therapy along with individual therapy as groups can provide benefits that individual therapy may not. Groups can act as a support network that allows participant gain insight from fellow group members and feel less alone in their struggles.

Adjustment Disorders and Coping With Grief/Loss and Life Transitions

This group is a mix of psychoeducation and processing of grief and loss as well as life transitions, with a focus on adjustment disorders as a result of grief. The goal is to gain support and learn tools and perspectives to navigate through our grief and loss challenges. This group is best suited for those learning to live with new situations that grief and loss brings to our lives and struggling with adjusting to the new realities of the loss.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Skills

This skills group is designed for adults who are interested in learning Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills developed by Marsha M, Linehan. This is a closed group. The group is held in 4 sections which rotate through Orientation, Mindfulness Skills, Distress Tolerance Skills, Emotion Regulation Skills, and Interpersonal Effectiveness Skills. The facilitator will provide information and education on the topics of the day. The group will be given “talk time,” in which group members can share their thoughts, experiences and positive feedback with each other. This group is for people interested in learning DBT skills. This group will meet for 12 sessions.

Are You Being Abused In Your Relationship? He says he loves you. So…why does he do that?

This six week group will focus on understanding how abusers think to help women recognize when they are being controlled or devalued in their romantic relationships. He says he loves you. So…why does he do that? Maybe you have asked yourself this question again and again. In our group sessions we will learn about:
*Early warning signs of abuse
*The nature of abusive thinking
*Myths about abusers
*Ten abusive personality types
*The role of drugs and alcohol
*What you can fix, and what you you can’t
*How to get out of an abusive relationship safely

Our conversations will be based off of the book Why Does He Do That by Lundy Bancroft.

If you are questioning if you are in an abusive relationship, need validation for the experiences you are having or are struggling to find the strength to consider leaving your abusive relationship, this group will provide you with the tools you need to move forward. Through psychoeducation and a confidential community, you will begin to remember who you are, recognize your worth and find a sense of personal empowerment.

Big Self Energy

Join Big Self Energy, a 10-week group therapy program designed to support transgender and gender non-conforming adults as they are building a cohesive and compassionate sense of Self. Through mindfulness, artistic expression, and community, participants will learn together how to reduce stress, collaborate on how to address internalized self-criticism, and practice navigating social situations securely and authentically. The program combines evidence-based concepts and skills from Internal Family Systems, Mindful Self-Compassion, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Developing Emotional Intelligence for Men

This group is for male identified people who wish to become more aware of their emotions, connect with other men, improve communication, deepen relationships, and do the work to heal. All of these things require some level of emotional intelligence and a willingness to feel life. We will confront shame, insecurity and self-doubt through practices of tender strength, self-compassion and fierce awareness. CBT for Psychosis

Do you suspect you have a mental health condition? Does the word psychosis illicit fear due to concerns of abnormalities? Reality check! Three out of one hundred people who experience psychosis at least one time during their lifetime, cited by Guvenek-Cokol(2022). The same author also noted individuals who seek programs to manage symptoms; some are diagnosed with a psychiatric disorder and learn how to manage the symptoms, and others have a nonpsychiatric mental illness (Guvenek-Cokol, 2022).
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis is a University of Washington curriculum to help community members with concerns about psychosis. Essentially, adults ages eighteen years of age and older explore the following:
• Is there a problem?
• What is the problem?
• What are potential solutions?
• What are the pros and cons of each solution?
• Which solution seems the best at this point?
• Do it!
Let’s embark on a pathway enriched with establishing safety while transparently discussing what’s wrong.

Women’s Body Compassion Group

Self-compassion is often misunderstood—many confuse it with self-esteem, self-care, or self-love. This group provides a space dedicated to exploring what self-compassion truly means and how it can transform your relationship with yourself and your body. Women’s Emotional Eating Support Group

This group is for women 21+ years old who struggle with emotionally engaging with food. This group is part psychoeducational and part group process and support, and aims to educate and support women who use food as an emotional coping mechanism for difficult emotions. Husbands Helping Husbands (H3) (HE)

Husbands often get overlooked, are under-appreciated, overworked, or over stressed. This is a support group of husbands who don’t have a good support network of friends of family that are supportive. Building Castles

The purpose of this group is to help women on their journey to healing from developed anxiety and depression symptoms associated with domestic violence. A powerful way to battle these diagnoses and acknowledge trauma is to welcome vulnerability within a group of others who connect through similar experiences. Together we will help build a safe space to share raw and authentic emotions that come with being victimized. I will be using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to bring core beliefs to the surface and help you learn about your inner child. This will help build healthy coping strategies, promote self-worth, and create self-determination to keep putting one foot in front of the other. Life does not pause to acknowledge your hurt; we have to create that pause for ourselves.

DBT Skills for Life

DBT is an evidence-based model of therapy that helps people learn and use new skills and strategies so that they build lives they feel are worth living. Every 12 weeks there will be a new module reviewing through one of the following: Mindfulness: How to be present, in the moment, and attuned to the thoughts and feelings you are experiencing. Distress tolerance: How to tolerate crisis situations without making it worse. Emotion regulation: Learning how to regulate/stabilize emotions without under or overreacting. Interpersonal effectiveness: Learning how to meet your objectives in relationships without compromising your or others’ self-respect.
