Overview

Susie Winston is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with over 40 years’ experience providing successful treatment to people of all ages. Susie began her career in California, moving to the Seattle area in 1986. Over Susie's career in community mental health, she developed specializations in the treatment of trauma, including sexual assault and childhood abuse; and responding to the needs of individuals, children/youth and families.
Susie is an experienced mental health therapist and clinical supervisor/coach who specializes in recovery and empowerment. She is a strengths-based practitioner, collaborating with clients to bring their natural talents to address current issues and resolve past trauma. Susie is trained in CBT; TF-CBT; motivational interviewing; brief solution-focused psychotherapy; psychodynamic psychotherapy; and mindfulness-based stress reduction.
Susie is warm and engaging. She works to create a safe and nurturing environment in which individuals can explore their emotions and behaviors in a non-judgmental manner. Susie is strategic and solution focused. Susie uses positive psychology and a focus on strengths to help people overcome the negative self-perceptions often underlying impairments and mood disorders.
