Melaka Smith is a LMHCA with a master's in social work degree with a graduate certificate in Clinical Social Work from the University of Kentucky. My goals as a clinician are for clients to understand that they are the experts in their lives, to meet them where they are at, and to use therapeutic techniques to help with thoughts and behavioral patterns. I believe that treatments done while in session as and in between sessions aids in getting the best results for clients to reach their therapeutic goals.

Melaka is the spouse of military of an Army veteran who served 8 years active duty. mother of a newly Airforce recruit. Also, the mother of a soon to be nursing student, and basketball star. As you can see Melaka's therapy practice was formed through life events. Other than spending time with family so of Melaka's favorite pass time includes going to basketball games, watching boxing, skating, bowling, and consider herself an avid traveler.
