Overview

Hey, I’m Corey. I started working in mental health 12 years ago in the realm of alternative schools and wilderness therapy. I’ve also been in outdoor education, backcountry guiding, and adult transitional living. I recently received my Master of Social Work from Portland State. As a therapist my goals are to meet you with compassion and validation, and to provide a safe and supportive space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Beyond that, I believe in the importance of being appropriately challenged in therapy, to expand the idea of what is possible with your mental health, which is part of the collaborative process we will cultivate.

In therapy sessions, I bring a warm and compassionate style that seeks to incorporate your existing strengths and resources to keep our work relevant to your real life circumstances. We might address recent events or take a look at your past, practice coping skills, discuss existential ideas, or find reasons to laugh.

I am a master's-level candidate holding a certificate to practice in Oregon as a social work associate. I practice under a board-approved clinical supervisor, pursuant to OAR 877-020-0012, at Mindful Therapy Group, P.C.
