Overview

An ideal client might be a young person grappling with PTSD and low self-esteem following the traumatic loss of their parents in an auto accident. They are now in the care of their grandmother, which may add another layer of emotional complexity, as they may feel burdens related to dependency, grief, and guilt.

To address, the clients specific needs, my expertise as a counselor would involve a tailored approach that blends trauma-informed care with interventions to rebuild self-esteem and emotional resistance. Trauma-Focus-Therapy (CBT) to help the client recognize and refrain negative thoughts patterns that reinforce their PTSD symptoms.

Encouraging potential clients to take the first step to a seeking professional help involves creating an environment that feel safe, accessible, and hopeful. I would use: Normalize Seeking Help: Reduce Stigma: using language and outreach that normalize therapy as part of self-care.
