Understanding Oregon Health Plan (OHP) for Mental Health Care

If you’re a Mindful Therapy Group patient using Medicaid in Oregon, your coverage is through the Oregon Health Plan (OHP).

OHP provides coverage for mental health, physical health, and substance use treatment. Most members receive care through a Coordinated Care Organization (CCO) — a regional health plan that manages your benefits and provider network.

What is the Oregon Medicaid Health Plan

What is the Oregon Health Plan (OHP)?

OHP is Oregon’s Medicaid program, providing low-cost or no-cost coverage for eligible residents.

Covered behavioral health services may include:

  • Individual therapy
  • Group therapy
  • Family therapy
  • Medication management through participating providers

OHP covers mental health care, and in most cases you do not need a referral to get started.

How Oregon Health Plan Enrollment Works

When you enroll in OHP, you are typically assigned to a Coordinated Care Organization (CCO) and connected with a primary care provider (PCP).

Your CCO coordinates your care and determines which providers are in-network.

Step 1 for Medicaid in Oregon

Step 1: OHP Enrollment

Once approved, you’ll receive:

  • OHP member ID
  • CCO assignment
  • Primary care provider information

Step 2: CCO Assignment

Most members are assigned to a CCO based on where they live. In some areas, you may be able to choose your CCO.

Your CCO (Health Plan)

  • Determining which providers you can see
  • Connecting you with mental health services

Our Mission in Oregon

Our Mission

Mindful Therapy Group began 15 years ago with one goal: to create a safe, inclusive space where healing and mental wellness can thrive. From day one, our founders set out to build more than just a therapy practice. They envisioned a place where people from all backgrounds could access care without judgment, stigma, or barriers.

Too often, mental health care feels out of reach for those that need it most. Long waitlists, confusing insurance systems, and a lack of culturally competent providers leave many feeling unseen and unheard. We set out to change that.
